Alex Rodriguez Says Jennifer Lopez’s ‘Superpower’ Is Being a ‘Great Mother and Partner and Friend’
There’s a lot we admire about Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez‘s strong relationship — especially when they praise each other in oh-so-sweet ways. The former MLB pro recently opened up about his relationship with the Second Act star and sweetly revealed what she has taught him about adjusting to life in the public eye.
“I’ve never met anyone who’s more honest,” Alex, 43, recently gushed to The New York Times about Jennifer, 49. “She’s so authentic and genuine. It was strange to see someone of such magnitude be so normal, be such a great mother and partner and friend. How can you be like this and then go perform in front of 80,000 people? But that’s her superpower.”
A-Rod host also dished that he has to be creative in order to keep up with J. Lo. “I’m old school. I remember things better if I write them out,” Alex explained. “The other day, Jennifer said something brilliant at, like, 2 in the morning. I reached over to get my notebook, and everything falls on the floor. Then I grabbed it and wrote it down.”
While it seems pretty obvious to fans that these two are a match made in heaven, the “Your Love Don’t Cost A Thing” singer recently admitted to being pretty skeptical when they first began dating in 2017. During a visit to the SiriusXM studios on Wednesday, April 3, Jen opened up about the moment she knew Alex — who will be her fourth husband — was the one. “[You mean] to get married again?” the World of Dance host joked, causing the room to erupt in laughter.
On a more serious note, the brunette beauty revealed she “was very weary” about diving into another relationship “after everything I’ve been through.” Prior to her fairytale romance with the hunky baseball star, Jen was previously married to Ojani Noa, Cris Judd and Marc Anthony — with an engagement to Ben Affleck thrown in the mix, too. “I don’t know. Probably about a year in, you know, I was just sussing it out until then,” the mom-of-two said.
It all changed for the Maid In Manhattan actress after Alex surprised her with a 16-carat diamond ring while popping the question during their romantic beachfront engagement in the Bahamas last month. “We’re really happy,” she gushed to People following the exciting news. “We have [an] appreciation for where we are in our lives today, and that’s what we’re enjoying the most,” Alex added.
