Alyssa Farah Griffin Opens Up About ‘Hard’ IVF Journey With Husband Justin Griffin: ‘I’ve Been a Wreck’
The View’s Alyssa Farah Griffin opened up about her IVF journey with her husband, Justin Griffin.
“My husband and I have been hoping, trying to get pregnant for about a year and a half, and it wasn’t happening naturally, so we made the decision to move forward with IVF. This is my second cycle, so, tomorrow I will be in the doctor’s office dealing with that,” she said during an episode of The View’s “Behind the Table” podcast on Monday, December 2.
“I wanted to share it for a couple of reasons,” she added. “I had no idea at my age how hard this actually would be. I’m only 35 and, to me, I was like, I’ve got plenty of time, this won’t be that difficult. I’m healthy, I work out, I eat right. My body was just not cooperating.”
Alyssa said that she hopes for herself and those going through the same thing that “there is a light at the end of the tunnel.”
“I don’t know when that will be for us, but it’s incredible what science can do,” the political strategist said.
She also shares that her View costars have been very supportive throughout her IVF process.
“We’ll get there and I’ll keep people posted,” Alyssa explained. “Sara Haines has been just beyond supportive and helpful in this process, and Sunny [Hostin] has, too. She’s had her own journey with this!”

Alyssa revealed that she gave herself “IVF injections at midnight at CNN on election night and working until four in the morning.”
“I didn’t cry, I didn’t have meltdowns, I didn’t feel hormonal swings. I think I got kind of cocky, because, the second cycle, I’ve been a wreck,” she said of the experience. “I’ve not felt myself, I’ve been tired, I’ve been emotional, you feel uncomfortable in your body. I just wanted to mention it because, from someone who is surprised by how hard it was, it’s because all the stories of this that we hear is usually women on the other side, like, ‘Here’s my baby and, oh, real quick, it was kind of hard to get here.'”
“And I just wanted to mention it because I feel like … from someone who was surprised by how hard it was, it’s because all the stories of this that we hear is usually women on the other side who’s like, ‘Here’s my baby,’ and ‘Oh real quick, it was kinda hard to get here,'” Alyssa said. “And I wanted to just share with women who are struggling that there is hope, and you just have to kind of be present in the process as you’re in it.”
Alyssa and Justin have been married since 2021. During a September 2023 episode of The View, Whoopi Goldberg asked Alyssa if she was pregnant.
“No! Oh my god. No,” she fired back, putting her hands over her face.
“You can’t say that when my mother-in-law is here who’s been dying for me to get pregnant!” Alyssa asked. “Why? Do I look pregnant?”
“Yes!” Whoopi said at the time. “I just got a vibe.”
