Amy Grant Loves Her Kids With Every Heartbeat! Get to Know the Musician’s Children

Matthew Chapman

Though little is known about Amy’s first child, who was born in 1987, it appears he is very successful. Per reports, Matthew co-owns LabCanna, a CBD company, with sister Sarah’s husband, Derek Besenius. Amy told Closer that Matthew’s business “got the first license to process hemp in the state of Tennessee.”

When discussing the life lesson she hopes her kids learn from her, Amy told Closer, “Say these phrases as often as possible and you’ll change the world around you: ‘How can I help you? I’m proud of you. I love you. Thank you.’ And the one word, ‘we,’ even if it’s someone you don’t [agree] with or are furious with. All of life is the work of reconciliation. That’s the journey of faith: the reconciliation between God and man. Everything else is just a lot of bluster.”

Gloria “Millie” Chapman

Born in 1989, Gloria became the second child and first daughter of Amy’s. Gloria — who goes by Millie — wed husband Ben Long in April 2019. She made Amy a grandmother in January 2022 when Millie and Ben welcomed their first child, daughter Penelope Willow Long.

Sarah Chapman

Amy’s third child was born in 1992. Sarah married Derek — who works with Matthew — in November 2019.

“When my daughter Sarah married on November 9, she came down the aisle flanked by her father, Gary Chapman, on one side and her stepfather, Vince Gill, on the other,” Amy told Closer in 2019. All I could think was, ‘Phew, life looks all kinds of ways!’”

Corrina Gill

Corrina is Amy and Vince’s only biological child together. “[She’s] the glue of this whole family,” Vince told AARP magazine in 2011. “She bonded all of us in a blood way that really did connect us.”

Corinna left college in 2021 to study music performance. “I’m sleeping like a teenager!” Amy gushed to Closer at the time, revealing what she plans to do with the kids out of the house. “I want to experience life and not have a work agenda. I’m going to take my Airstream Bambi trailer coast to coast, meet people and just celebrate being alive!”

After Amy suffered injuries from a bike accident in Nashville in July 2022, Corinna joined her dad on stage at the Ryman Auditorium to perform a rendition of “When My Amy Prays” dedicated to her mom.

“We’re going to do this song that I wrote for my wife, Amy,” Vince told the concert crowd. “We haven’t been doing it much, but because of her accident and everything she’s been going through we’ve been thinking a lot about her. I thought how sweet it would be for her youngest to sing the song I wrote for her.”

Jennifer “Jenny” Gill

Born on May 5, 1982, Amy said she “inherited” Jenny when Vince came into the picture. Like her dad and stepmom, Jenny is also in the music business and actually tours with Amy — who calls her “a great harmony singer.”

Besides that, Jenny has also made Amy and Vince grandparents! “We have two grandkids from her and [her husband] Josh [Van Valkenburg, whom she married in 2010],” she added, clearly proud of her stepdaughter.
