Amy Robach Talks Her Outlook on Life Post-Cancer — “I Take All My Vacation Days Now!”
In an exclusive interview with Closer Weekly, Good Morning America news anchor Amy Robach, 43, opens up about how cancer improved her outlook on life.
After a double mastectomy and many months of chemo, Amy tells Closer that the ordeal improved her six-year marriage and helped change her life for the better. “My 40s have been my favorite decade,” she shares. “I remember being depressed on my 40th birthday. Now turning a year older is a complete and total gift!”
“There’s no happier group of people than cancer survivors. We are so grateful to be here,” she says.

She admits she is an adrenaline junkie who doesn’t mind working crazy hours, but since the scare of her life she says her outlook on spending time with her family has changed. “I take all my vacation days now, and I never did before,” she says. “I’ve learned to say, ‘If I can’t enjoy this, what’s the point?’”

She also tells Closer that she gets her routine check-ups but refuses to live in fear of the disease adding, “It’s not how long you live, it’s how you live.”
