Angela Bassett Admits to Getting Botox Done: It’s ‘No Surprise’
When it comes to being open, Angela Bassett has always been about it — and now she’s revealing that she has gotten some Botox done in the past.
“I know lashes are no surprise! Botox is no surprise!” the 61-year-old told New Beauty magazine in a new interview. “I’m a big supporter of being natural, but I’ve done it twice. Just a little bit, not too much — I still need to express myself.” However, the actress has done a bit more than that to look 20 years younger than her age: she also has quite the skin care routine.
“I’m pretty passionate about keeping up with the skin care, especially being in front of the camera and on the stage,” the 9-1-1 star told the outlet. “It’s important. When I’m not on stage or on camera, I’m pretty sans makeup — I think it’s good to keep a clear, clean fresh palette.”
Angela adds that “good aestheticians” and a dermatologist also helps to keep her looking healthy. When she isn’t focusing on staying on top of her skin care, the Oscar nominee is all about her family — she has been married to fellow actor Courtney B. Vance since 1997, and they have two children: twins Bronwyn and Slater, 13. The American Horror Story costar is also killing it in her career, as she is currently starring in Netflix’s Otherhood featuring Patricia Arquette and Felicity Huffman, and was of course part of the mega-hit Black Panther.
“If you’re passionate, you have a great shot at being successful,” Angela once exclusively told Closer Weekly. “I’ve learned to always keep my head up.”
“I’m living my dream,” she added. “I’ve come to understand that I possess a strength that people can feel and appreciate, a strength and sensitivity. I feel very blessed.”
