Anna Faris’ Son Jack Is Her Pride and Joy! Meet the ‘Mom’ Alum’s Only Child With Ex Chris Pratt
Anna Faris doesn’t have to think twice about making decisions that benefit her son. Though the Mom alum has a ton of professional responsibilities as a Hollywood star, she’s willing to drop anything when it comes to her only child, Jack Pratt.
Parenthood has been Anna’s No.1 priority ever since she welcomed Jack with ex-husband Chris Pratt in 2012. The Scary Movie actress said her “identity [changed]” as a woman the moment her little bundle of joy came into her life.
“You are now a mom, sort of the most important job in the world, and the pressure and the guilt and all the things that are wrapped up in that. I don’t think anyone can really prepare you for [motherhood] ― even though they try,” she told the Huffington Post in January 2016. “I definitely grappled with the idea of ‘Who am I now?’ The way I describe it is like a tidal wave. There was before the tidal wave, and there’s after the tidal wave.”
Anna Faris and Ex Chris Pratt Share Son Jack Pratt
Anna welcomed her beloved kiddo with Chris on August 25, 2012. Jack was born prematurely, arriving “10 weeks” before his due date. As Chris revealed during an interview with E! News in March 2020, “Anna went into labor at 30 weeks and he had some issues.”
“[Jack] was in intensive care for a month. He had very serious complications, and it was a lot of prayers and a lot of promises and negotiations with God to save my son,” the Jurassic World star explained. Anna also opened up about Jack’s premature birth in her 2017 book Unqualified.
“When you have a baby in the NICU, every parent has the same question every day: ‘When can we take him home?’ It’s what every family wants to know, and the nurses always say the same thing: ‘We don’t know,'” she penned. “Jack spent 3 1/2 weeks in the hospital because we couldn’t take him home until he could eat on his own. It was an emotionally exhausting month — worrying about Jack and watching nurses poke and prod his gangly limbs with his impossibly tiny diapers that were the size of a Kleenex.”

Fortunately, Jack is doing extremely well as a young boy. “Today, Jack is at a beautiful age,” the proud mama gushed in her memoir. “He has some temper tantrums occasionally, but he’s a really good kid and he’s happy and delicious and likes cuddles.”
In addition to his sweet personality, Anna revealed her son is full of jokes. “He’s a total ham,” she marveled to the Huffington Post. “I get a kick out of him.”
Anna’s job as a mother became even more important when she and Chris ended their marriage after eight years together in August 2017. The House Bunny star shifted her focus from raising her little man to coparenting with the Guardians of the Galaxy actor as amicably as possible. Fortunately, open “communication” has been the key for Anna and Chris.
“We reiterate that there aren’t rules to this,” the blonde beauty shared with Women’s Health in April 2018. “We have a lot of love and friendship, and our big goal is to protect Jack. I cherish my family, my close friends, my child ― that makes the rest of it worth it.”
Chris Pratt Has 3 Kids With Katherine Schwarzenegger
In the years since their split, Anna and Chris have done a fabulous job coparenting their son. Even though both have moved on, they continue to put their differences aside for the sake of their child. Chris is married to wife Katherine Schwarzenegger, while Anna is wed to her third husband, Mike Barrett. The actress revealed the two secretly “eloped” during a July 2021 episode of “Anna Faris Is Unqualified.”
Chris and Katherine share two daughters, Lyla and Eloise Christina. In November 2024, Chris and Katherine welcomed their third child together, son Ford.
“We are overjoyed to announce the birth of our son, Ford Fitzgerald Schwarzenegger Pratt,” the couple announced in a joint Instagram post. “Mama and baby are doing well and Ford’s siblings are thrilled by his arrival. We feel so blessed and grateful. Love, Katherine and Chris.”
Previously speaking on her podcast, Anna explained why raising her son with her ex has been easier than she ever imagined. “We have sort of the luxury of circumstance. You know, we are both in other loving relationships,” she said in 2019. “[But] Chris and I work really hard [to coparent] because we have Jack. That is sort of the long game idea and making sure Jack is really happy, which makes us really happy.”
Jack Is a Great Big Brother
Jack already has a sweet relationship with his half-sisters, Lyla and Eloise. The Jurassic World: Dominion actor posted a rare photo with his son and his eldest daughter snuggling up to him at home in April 2021. The siblings also stepped out with their father one month prior, holding hands as they took a stroll in California’s Pacific Palisades neighborhood. Watching Jack become a doting big brother is just one of the reasons Chris is open to having more children in the future.
“I would love to have more, as many as the man upstairs will provide,” the Minnesota native told E! News in July 2021. “We’ll do it. I’ll probably have to talk to Katherine about that, but my plan is, let’s go.”
