Anna Wintour Wants Kate Middleton to Appear in the September Issue of 'Vogue' - Closer Weekly

From princess to fashion queen?

According to a new report, Vogue editor in chief Anna Wintour is vying for Kate Middleton to appear on the cover of the fashion magazine’s coveted September issue.

“Anna knows landing Kate for the September issue would be a huge coup, especially since Prince William’s wife has never done a magazine feature for a U.S. Publication,” a ‘Vogue’ insider revealed on Tuesday, Feb. 24.

“The focus of Kate’s feature would be her numerous charity endeavors, which Anna has conveyed to Kate’s staff,” the source explained.

Anna, 65, allegedly also believes featuring The Duchess of Cambridge, 33, on the cover would help boost the mag’s sales.

Anna has worked as ‘Vogue’ editor in chief since 1988.

“Anna has been trying for the last two years to get Kate to agree and she’s always refused,” the insider told ‘Radar Online.’ “But this time, Anna has stepped up the campaign, and is now enlisting her numerous high powered connections.”

Past September issues of ‘Vogue’ have featured cover stars including Halle Berry, Gwyneth Paltrow, Renée Zellweger, Nicole Kidman and Sarah Jessica Parker.
