Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of Anthony Bourdain, the celebrity chef, travel host, TV star, and author, who has died at age 61. CNN confirmed Anthony's death on Friday and said the cause of death was suicide.

"It is with extraordinary sadness we can confirm the death of our friend and colleague, Anthony Bourdain," the network said in a statement Friday morning. According to CNN, Bourdain was in Strasbourg, France, working on an upcoming episode of his award-winning CNN series Parts Unknown. He was found unresponsive in his hotel room Friday morning by his close friend Eric Ripert, the French chef.

A master storyteller and Emmy-winning TV host, Bourdain helped make exotic, high-end food and everything that comes with it more accessible to the American middle class.

Anthony is survived by his 11-year-old daugher, Ariane Bourdain. He will be nearly missed.

This is a breaking news story and will be updated.
