Ben Affleck Is Playing Matchmaker for Ex-Wife Jennifer Garner, Wants Her to Date Someone “Solid”

How sweet! Ben Affleck wants Jennifer Garner to find love again — and he’s secretly playing Cupid! “He wants to see the mother of his children [Violet, 12, Seraphina, 9, and Samuel, 6] happy, and he doesn’t want his kids around some loser,” a source recently told In Touch (in the magazine’s latest issue, on newsstands now!) of why Ben’s trying to set up single Jen, 46. “He definitely doesn’t want to fix her up with another actor. He wants someone who’s solid.”

Ben, 45, has already “laid the groundwork” with someone he knows from church. “Ben’s keeping his fingers crossed. He hopes they click!” Ben and Jennifer have always been quite religious. In 2016, they previously reconnected to take their three kids to church after they ended their marriage in 2015.

The couple were married for 10 years before they decided to call it quits and on Father’s Day, Ben recently took to Instagram to write a sweet message about being a dad to his children. “I can think of three incredible reasons why today is so special. Happy Father’s Day to all the dads and father figures out there, and to the women that empower them to be the best they can be. We are all so fortunate beyond measure,” he captioned a photo of a drawing with the text, “Love you, Dad! You are my superhero.”

Although they may not be together anymore, the Hollywood couple makes sure to spend as much time as possible with their kids. Ben and Jen successfully co-parent their kids together and when asked in a previous interview how the former couple successfully raises their children together, Ben simply said he and Jen “do our best” and “try our best” to be great parents.

Jen even told E! News what she likes the most about being a mom. “The great thing about kids is the minute you show up in your own house, your kids don’t care what you’ve been doing all day,” she said. “They just go, ‘Hey, mom, she did this, I want that… let’s read this book,’ so they force you to be in the present.” It’s great that Jen and Ben still get along great!
