Still going strong! Betty White is celebrating turning 97 years old today, Thursday, Jan. 17. And, believe it or not, she’s still showing no signs of slowing down as she continues to enjoy her life.

One day before her birthday on Wednesday, Jan. 16, the Golden Girls alum was spotted out and about in Beverly Hills, CA being escorted by her limo driver. That’s right, good old Betty has her own personal driver and we’re totally jealous. During the pre-birthday outing, Betty rocked a pair of blue pants, a white top under a floral blouse, and a bright blue Patagonia puffer jacket. The new photos of Betty definitely prove that even if you’re up there in age, it doesn’t mean you should eliminate your fashion sense. The Golden Globe-nominated actress even flashed a smile for all her fans as she stepped out.

The Hot in Cleveland star once said it’s “your outlook on life that counts” when it comes to aging gracefully. “If you take yourself lightly and don’t take yourself too seriously, pretty soon you can find the humor in our everyday lives,” she said.

No matter her age, Betty has always been all about being positive and staying funny. Her best advice? “If one has no sense of humor, one is in trouble,” she once said.

Everyone knows Betty for playing Rose Nylund on The Golden Girls, but let’s not forget that she was also Sue Ann Nivens on The Mary Tyler Moore Show. In fact, she and late star Mary Tyler Moore were very close friends.

This year, Betty planned on having a “low-key” birthday party to ring in her 97th, as a close acquaintance of the star told Closer Weekly in the magazine’s newest issue, “She has her chef cook — Betty loves Italian food — and just likes to sit with friends, sing show tunes, and have fun. She’s always been low-key about birthdays.”
