'Beverly Hills Cop' Actor Gil Hill Has Died at Age 84 - Closer Weekly

Rest in peace, Gil Hill.

The Beverly Hills Cop star sadly died from pneumonia on Monday, Feb. 29 after previously undergoing treatment for a lung condition, the actor’s friend confirmed to Deadline Detroit. He was 84-years-old.

“We are relieved that his passing was peaceful and painless,” a family member told the publication. “We ask that you pray for the family and respect our privacy during this very difficult time.”

Gil was a real-life police detective who was most-known for portraying Inspector Douglas Todd in all three Beverly Hills Cop movies alongside Eddie Murphy.

The actor — who was married to Delores Hooks from 1955 until her 2015 death — is survived by three children, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
