George H.W. Bush Showcased His Bill Clinton Socks When Bill Came for a Visit — See the Pics!

Former president George H.W. Bush couldn't have been any more prepared to welcome Bill Clinton into his home on Monday, June 25. To commemorate the occasion, George showed off his pair of blue and white socks which featured Bill's face on them, and the two politicians shared this hilarious moment with the world!

Taking to Twitter, George posted a pic of Bill admiring his cool footwear. "Special visit today with a great friend — and now, a best-selling author. Luckily I had a freshly laundered pair of @BillClinton socks to mark the occasion," he captioned the pic.

It's great to see the two politicians getting along after they competed against one another in the presidential election more than 25 years ago. And not only did Bill stick around to see his friend's socks, but he also got the chance to meet George's new service dog, Sully. The specially-trained Labrador gently sat at the foot of Bill's chair in another pic that George tweeted.

"A great joy to welcome home the newest member of our family, 'Sully,' a beautiful — and beautifully trained — lab from @AmericasVetDogs. Could not be more grateful, especially for their commitment to our veterans," he wrote in the caption.

Since George's late wife Barbara Bush's funeral earlier this year, the former president was hospitalized twice for low blood pressure and fatigue. He was recently discharged from the hospital in early June after he showed signs of improvement. George's longtime chief-of-staff, Jean Becker, previously released a statement about the heartbreak that George experienced after losing his wife.

"He, of course, is broken-hearted to lose his beloved Barbara, his wife of 73 years. He held her hand all day today and was at her side when [she] left this good earth," the statement read. "Obviously, this is a very challenging time. But it will not surprise all of you who know and love him, that he also is being stoic and strong, and is being lifted up by his large and supportive family. He is determined to be there for them as well. He appreciates all the well wishes and support." With Bill by George's side yesterday, George clearly had the best medicine available — laughter!
