‘Blue Bloods’ Series Finale Scene Shows Tense Discussion in Frank Reagan’s Office About the Mayor

Things are bound to get juicy in the Blue Bloods series finale when it comes to the story line for Mayor Peter Chase.

In a new clip from the finale released ahead of the Friday, December 13, episode, Tom Selleck’s Frank Reagan gets a bit heated while talking about the mayor’s plans.

“What did the mayor say?” DCPI Garrett Moore asks Frank in the scene.

“OK, I will tell you what he said, but not to leave this room, ever,” he replied.

“Copy that,” Lieutenant Sid Gormley says before taking a seat at the table.

“But I’m going to remind you I’m not a cop,” Garrett says, to which Sid replies, “Will you shut up and just listen?”

“The mayor reminded me that the public advocate is in charge in his absence,” Frank said.

“Which was his duty and the right thing to do,” Garrett says.

“Yes, but then he said, ignore all calls and push off any requests for a meeting,” Frank says, telling Garrett, “I think this is where you decide whether you stay or go.”

The clip drew reactions from fans, who are upset at CBS for cancelling the show after such a successful run on the network for 14 years.

“I am so disappointed that this show is ending,” a commenter wrote. “I felt there was still life in this series, I am just dreading Friday nights final episode. I hope they close everything nicely and don’t leave the fans disappointed.”

“CBS canceled Blue Bloods is still mind boggling,” another person expressed. “The best tv show on Friday nights at 10pm. It should’ve gotten at least 3 more seasons.”

We already know based on photos released by CBS ahead of the episode that Peter ends up in the hospital with a bloody wound. Frank goes to visit him in the hospital and is presented with a plea from the mayor.

“I don’t think I can do that, Mr. Mayor,” Frank tells the mayor, played by Dylan Walsh, in a clip from the finale released on Tuesday, December 10.

“You can; you’ve done it to me a million times. Get us out of this,” he tells Frank.

Later on in the episode, the duo will attend a funeral along with the rest of the Reagan family. It’s been the hot topic of conversation surrounding the show — who will die in the series finale. We can rule out Peter dying because he is pictured attending the funeral despite the injury to his shoulder.

Filming the final episode of the hit show brought many of the cast members and crew to tears.

“Throughout the 14 years, at critical times — not just in the show’s existence, but in the state of our country — Tom had a knack for showing up to work and delivering a message, and oftentimes, not even in his own words. He would quote different things to leave us with something to think about and focus us on what’s important. It was a magical thing,” Donnie Wahlberg told Variety on Thursday. “When they said, ‘That’s a wrap,’ we all waited.”
