Steve Schirripa Says ‘A Lot of Actors Are Not Very Nice’ — But ‘Blue Bloods’ Is Different

The stars of Blue Bloods gathered to share behind-the-scenes details about the show in a new special and actor Steve Schirripa decided not to hold anything back.

“A lot of TV and a lot of actors, they’re not very nice,” Steve, 67, said, before playfully telling the camera, “You can cut that out, but don’t cut it out. Alright. They’re not very nice. They’re not who you think they are. Here, they’re as nice as you think they are. It’s family and I think that’s what the audience sees and feels.”

Steve, who starred on The Sopranos as Bobby Baccalieri from 2000 to 2007, has been a huge part of the reason why fans have loved Blue Bloods from the very start. As Anthony Abetemarco, he’s become Erin Reagan’s right-hand man and viewers are curious to see how his story wraps up in the show’s final two episodes.

It seems like love could potentially be on the horizon for Anthony, as the synopsis of the penultimate episode teases a possible love interest.

“Eddie and Badillo try to help a man whose apartment has been taken over by a squatter who also happens to be Jamie’s confidential informant. Also, Danny and Baez investigate when a star student is found dead in her dormitory; Frank suspects the governor has an agenda when he comes to him with a proposal; and Erin oversteps when she tries to play matchmaker for Anthony, on Blue Bloods,” the synopsis of the second-to-last episode says.

Amanda Kloots will be guest-starring in the penultimate episode, set to air on CBS on Friday, December 6, at 10 p.m. ET.

But regardless of what happens during the final two episodes, the show’s cast is grateful that they’ve had 14 incredible years on CBS.

“We really pinch ourselves all the time. We laugh all the time. We are so grateful,” Robert Clohessy, who plays Sidney Gormley on the show, said during the special.

“I think a lot of people can relate to Blue Bloods because they see all of our characters as just real genuine human beings,” Marisa Ramirez, who portrays Detective Maria Baez, said.

And Abigail Hawk also shared the reason why fans have connected with the Blue Bloods characters over the years.

“These are real people,” she explained. “These are people who are messy. These are people who are flawed. They do things wrong. They do many things right and it’s relatable.”

All of the stars, including Donnie Wahlberg, look back on their time on the show with pure joy.

“I’m so thankful to be here and to be part of this show that I’ve never lost that gratitude in 14 seasons. I’ve never lost it,” Donnie, 55, said. “I’m excited every day, which helps when we’re chasing bad guys out in the cold at 3 in the morning on a Friday night after a long week of work. It’s rough and I think the crew feeds off of that energy and we all kind of lift each other up.”
