Candace Cameron Bure Reveals Which Actors She Wants to Work With in Future Christmas Films
Candace Cameron Bure has worked with a lot of talented costars from her time on Full House and beyond. The Great American Family star revealed who she would like to work with next on a Christmas movie.
“You know, as an ‘80s girl, I would still love to get Joey McIntyre in a Christmas film,” she exclusively tells Closer. “I think that would be just brilliant.”
And there’s another actor who she would love to costar with in a holiday film some day.
“I feel like Jonathan Roumie, who is the star of The Chosen, you know, maybe because he plays Jesus, but I feel like we need to do a movie together,” Candace, 48, says.
This holiday season, Candace got to make one of her biggest wishes come true, as she finally got to star alongside Cameron Mathison in Home Sweet Christmas, which will premiere on Sunday, December 1 at 8 p.m. ET on Great American Family.
“I absolutely adore Cameron Mathison, and I have wanted to do a movie together for so many years and we’ve been friends for a really long time,” she says. “And we finally got put together.”
And the film’s sweet plot is sure to bring a smile to your face this holiday season.
“They are two childhood friends that reconnect when my great uncle has passed and leaves the both of us, his maple sugar farm,” she says of the film’s plot. “And what I love so much about this is that there’s instant chemistry with Cameron and with me and, and our characters because we’ve already known each other since childhood.”
“So it brings you that nostalgic feeling in the film. It goes back in time,” Candace adds. “We see flashbacks of them together as kids, and then it’s kind like they pick up where they right where they left off and just rediscover how meaningful their friendship is and they might actually be their one true love.”

Fans can also see Candace in A Christmas Less Traveled, which premiered on November 16.
“It’s a very heartfelt film,” the Fuller House alum explains. “I’m really proud of it. It has a little bit of a faith thread through it. It was like a total female team on this movie and it’s really beautiful.”
The holiday spirit is flying strong in the Bure household! On Thanksgiving, Candace showed off a mouthwatering spread of food in her Instagram Stories, as well as some of the festive decor and tablescapes in her home.
Candace, who shares kids Natasha, Lev and Maksim with husband Valeri Bure, loves that her family embraces the holiday spirit too.
“My parents texted me last night, and they were like, ‘We watched one of your old Christmas movies and your mom and I were crying,’” she says. “’It was just so good.’ And I’m like, I know they’re my mom and dad, but it’s the sweetest thing because that’s what my parents do. They just do whatever they do for the day and then they cozy and tuck into the couch and watch Christmas movies.”
