Carrie Fisher’s French Bulldog Gary Has Retired To Florida 2 Years After Her Death — See The Pic!

There’s a few things that should come to mind when you first hear the name Carrie Fisher. One of those should be her fantastic movie career, especially all her work on the Star Wars franchise. And the other should probably be Gary the dog. And that’s because the late actress made sure to take her French bulldog anywhere she went, but now it’s time for him to hang up his leash… and discover a new adventure.

Gary Fisher the dog recently announced on his Instagram (yes that’s a sentence we just wrote) that he has left New York City and has instead found a new residence in Destin, FL following Carrie’s untimely passing at age 60 in December 2016.

“Just wanted to check in and say it has been 2 years and I miss my mom every day,” Gary’s Instagram caption read. “I tried New York after LA and decided the beach is much better. Hello Florida and the new adventure begins. #garymisseshismom #garyloveshismom #garyloveshisfans #garyfisher #frenchiesofinstagram #garyindestinflorida2019 #garysnewadventures.” Well, Gary certainly knows how to make us happy and sad all at the same time.

After Carrie passed from cardiac arrest in 2016, her former assistant, Coby McCoin, took Gary in. And it looks like the pair will be taking in all the sights that the Sunshine State has to offer from now on. While Gary continues to remind us how much he misses his mom, plenty of people do as well as the two-year anniversary of her death was on Dec. 27. A ton of tributes rolled in on the day, including one from a very close friend: Luke Skywalker himself, Mark Hamill.

“It makes me so happy to know how overwhelmed and touched she would be by the worldwide outpouring of love and affection for her today,” the Star Wars actor tweeted, adding the hashtags, “#AlwaysWithUs” and “#CarrieOnForever.” Mark even included a glorious photo of Carrie holding Gary.

Here’s hoping Gary the dog enjoys his new home!
