Carrie Underwood Slams Hater Who Dislikes Her New NFL Song: ‘I Know My Music Isn’t For Everyone’

People have different tastes in music, and that’s ok! When Carrie Underwood heard that her new NFL song “Game On” didn’t please a few football fans, she didn’t shy away from the criticism. In fact, the “Inside Your Heaven” singer took to Twitter to slam a Sports Illustrated producer who said that she disliked Carrie’s new anthem that accompanies the NFL’s Sunday Night Football broadcast.

“I love that NBC has been reading everyone’s Collinsworth slide tweets because it means they’ve also been reading all the tweets about how much we hate the new Carrie Underwood song,” producer Jessica Smetana wrote, referring to sports broadcaster Cris Collinsworth.

And instead of Carrie, 35, just letting the insensitive comment go, she responded back to her hater to let her know that her words ultimately don’t affect her. “Hey, I know my music isn’t for everyone, but I love what I do and I love being a part of @SNFonNBC! I am one lucky lady! I also love women who build other women up… just saying…” the pregnant country star wrote.

After Carrie’s initial tweet to Smetana, she returned to Twitter to remind her fans to stay “positive.” She wrote, “Today, let’s be positive. Let’s be NICE to each other. Let’s do something nice FOR someone else. Smile at a stranger. It’s the start of a new week! Today is precious! Don’t waste it! Sending love and cheer to you all!!!”

Carrie’s fans showed their support for the singer online and agreed that “Game On” was a really good song. “You are entitled to your opinion but don’t use ‘we.’ I watched SNF NBC just to see Carrie,” one fan commented and another wrote, “Speak for yourself ’cause I love the Carrie song and Sunday Night football is lucky to have her!” Keep making great music, Carrie!
