CBS Makes Major Lineup Shakeup as Network Cancels 2 ‘FBI’ Spinoffs and Fans Are Furious

Fans of the FBI franchise may be disappointed by CBS’ latest shakeup. The network has decided not to renew the FBI spinoffs FBI: Most Wanted and FBI: International, multiple outlets reported.

FBI: Most Wanted, which starred Dylan McDermott, lasted for six seasons, while FBI: International lasted for four seasons. Eva-Jane Willis, who stars on FBI: International, spoke out after the show’s cancellation.

“Of course I’m sad the show must come to an end, but I want to thank Wolf Entertainment and CBS for everything: in particular the incredible tour of Europe!” she told People in a statement. “We have memories to last us a lifetime! Also, everyone needs to know how incredible our crew in Budapest are: our family away from home- I cannot thank you enough. And to the fans: you’re amazing! Great episodes coming up so stick with us all the way to the finish line! We’re not done yet!”

Fans were fuming when they learned the news that the two shows were canceled at CBS, leaving several disappointed comments on the show’s Instagram page.

“I can’t believe it today that Fbi: International and Most Wanted got canceled! Man, why?! Love those shows!” one person wrote in a comment on FBI’s Instagram page underneath the most recent post.

“Why are FBI international & FBI most wanted being canceled! These are 2 of my absolute favorite show, this can’t be happening! See if NBC will pick them up, please!” another person said.

“I guess most wanted and international is canceled after this season. I am sad about it because both spin offs have so much potential,” a third commenter wrote.

Another person wrote, “@cbstv @fbicbs @paramountplus Like everyone is saying here, why would you cancel two of your FBI franchise shows?! I love all three and look forward to watching them every week – they’re consistent top of the ratings, the acting is top-notch, the stories compelling, and clearly you have fans – so why would you cancel these great, strong shows?! I’m sad and disappointed – and confused!”

One person said, “Of course two more shows I like get the ax from CBS. What nonsense will you put it in their place now??”

Currently, it is unclear if the spinoffs will be picked up by another network.

It’s not all bad news for fans of the franchise though, as the original FBI series starring Missy Peregrym will be continuing.

“The original FBI series was formerly renewed through the 2026-2027 broadcast season,” a February 20 CBS press release said.

Another spinoff is also in the works called FBI: CIA. According to People, the show has not yet been casted.

“A dedicated, strait-laced FBI agent and a street-smart CIA agent are part of a new, clandestine taskforce charged with solving and preventing domestic terrorism in and around New York City,” the logline says.

Many fans wondered why the network would greenlight a new spinoff while canceling two others.

“All so you can try another one?????” one Instagram comment left on a post the official FBI account said.

“Canceling BOTH spin-offs that are still performing well and are well-loved in favor of a spin-off that hasn’t even aired yet is not the move you think it is @cbstv,” another person echoed.

Other commenters referenced when CBS canceled and uncanceled S.W.A.T. twice after fan efforts as well as star Shemar Moore’s pleas to save the show.

One person said, “@cbstv @cbstvstudios @fbicbs you need to uncancel these! Atleast uncancel Most Wanted. This is a huge mistake. If you can uncancel SWAT twice, you can uncancel these.”
