Celine Dion’s Son René-Charles Angélil Follows in His Mom’s Famous Footsteps, Drops New Music Online

Like mother, like son! Celine Dion's eldest child, René-Charles Angélil, is making headlines today for following in his famous mom's footsteps and releasing new music via the online audio distribution platform SoundCloud.

Using the pseudonym Big Tip, the 17-year-old dropped several covers of The Weeknd's songs online on Tuesday, May 8 and, in the hours following, René-Charles' music had already climbed to No. 1 and 2 on SoudCloud's R&B & Soul New & Hot chart.

After René-Charles promoted his music via his Instagram account, many of the teen's 91,000 followers commented how much they enjoyed his artistic song covers. "Sooo good! Lyrics flow and the music was bomb. Keep it up!" one fan wrote with another similarly adding, "That was perfect, and having the best singer in the world for your mother helps!"

René-Charles is the eldest son of Celine, 50, and her late husband, René Angélil, who sadly passed away at age 73 in January 2016 after battling throat cancer. The couple is also parents to seven-year-old twin sons, Eddy and Nelson Angélil, together.

Earlier this year, Celine took to Instagram to wish René-Charles a happy 17th birthday with a sweet message to her son. "Happy Birthday, RC! I love you more and more each day, and I'm so proud of the young man that you've become. Love, Mom," she captioned a pic of the two. Congrats on the new music, René-Charles — we can't wait to hear more!
