Cher came to slay at the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards on Monday, April 1, with a “bang bang!”

The Goddess of Pop, 77, skipped walking the red carpet at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles before the show. However, she posed for photos with boyfriend Alexander “AE” Edwards after accepting the Icon Award from Meryl Streep at the award ceremony.

Cher ni “unparalleled contributions to music and pop culture for over seven decades,” according to iHeartMedia. “Cher is one of the best-selling music artists in history, selling over 100 million records during the course of her extraordinary career. She is the only artist to date who has had a number-one single on a Billboard chart for seven consecutive decades.”

Same Pants, No Problem

Before giving her Icon Award speech, Cher took the stage for a performance. She rocked a pair of baggy pants, which she paired with a tight sparkly top.

“There are people who say, ‘Doesn’t that bitch have more than one pair of pants?'” Cher joked on stage. “I’ve had these pants for 40 years. I thought we should come here and accept this award together.”

Jennifer Hudson joined the legendary singer for the performance. They belted out Cher’s hit “Believe,” and the American Idol alum also gave a solo rendition of “If I Could Turn Back Time” to honor the award winner.

Meryl Approved

Meryl Streep was the one to introduce Cher as the Icon Award winner. The women are longtime friends after meeting on the set of Silkwood in the early 1980s.

Friends Forever

Meryl looked on with admiration as Cher gave an inspiring speech to the crowd. “Have a dream and don’t give it up no matter what happens,” the singer urged viewers. “If you have a dream and stick with it, you will have a wonderful life and it will probably come true.”

After hitting the stage, Cher posed for photos with boyfriend Alexander “AE” Edwards on the yellow carpet. The two cozied up and packed on the PDA for the cameras.
