Dean McDermott Gushes About Oldest Son Jack Turning 21: ‘He’s a Really Good Kid’
Kids grow up so fast and before you know it they’re leaving the nest and heading off to college! On October 10, Dean McDermott‘s oldest son, Jack, will be turning 21 years old and Dean admits that seeing Jack grow up has been a really good experience for him, but is also a reminder of his age.
“He’s a really good kid. It just reminds me that I’m old,” he told Closer Weekly and other reporters at the “Nights of the Jack” VIP Preview Night on Wednesday, October 2. As a dad of six to kids — Jack as well as Liam, 12, Stella, 11, Hattie and Finn, both 7, and Beau, 2 — Dean feels nothing but “blessed.”
“I have been blessed,” he gushed. “All my kids are really, really good kids, you know? All I can do is raise them the way I was taught by my mom. My mom was single mom and she’s just a really strong woman and she always wanted to raise me as a gentleman.”
Dean carries on his mother’s legacy by instilling the same values into his children that his mom taught him years ago. “I do that both with the boys and girls,” he explained. “I want to raise a really nice human being who says ‘please’ and ‘thank you.’ It’s a simple thing, but it goes so far.”
Due to the compliments that he’s been receiving lately, the dad of six knows that he’s done a very good job raising Jack and his siblings. “People always tell me that my kids are so polite and I say that’s the best thing that I could hear. I want to raise nice human beings who don’t talk back, they respect authority and that are good people,” he gushed.
Dean shares all of his kids — except Jack — with wife Tori Spelling. In 1998, he welcomed Jack with ex-wife Mary Jo Eustace. At the time, Dean and Mary thought that they would be together forever, until they got a divorce in 2006 after more than 10 years of marriage.
After they went their separate ways, Dean married Tori in 2006. “I’m madly in love with my husband. I’m really blessed, 14 years. 14 in May,” Tori gushed at the same event. “Yeah, I look at him everyday and I’m like I’m so in love with him. Even when I’m mad at him I look at him and I think he’s so hot.”
With a loving wife and 6 respectful kids, Dean has got a very nice life!
