Denise Richards Says She’s Thankful for the ‘Incredible’ Support She Received After Revealing Daughter Eloise Has Special Needs

In a recent interview, Denise Richards publicly shared that her youngest daughter, Eloise, has special needs after being diagnosed with a chromosomal disorder. And now, the actress, 47, is revealing that she was really “touched” by the amount of support she received after speaking out about her 7-year-old little girl.

“It came up on [my reality show The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills] and people watching … would see different things about her. So obviously, I had to talk about it,” Denise told Entertainment Tonight on Tuesday, February 12. “I was so touched at how supportive and really wonderful everyone has been, sharing their stories and bringing it out in the open. It was really pretty incredible.”

While previously speaking to People about Eloise’s special needs, the mom-of-three said, “She can only say a handful of words. And there are times when she feels like her age in understanding, and then other times where it feels she’s emotionally 3 years old. It’s been challenging. I’m learning every day because they don’t really have a road map for her particular case.”

The former Bond girl added, “Every child is different. You take care of your children no matter what is going on with them. I don’t know if [Eloise] is ever going to talk like a typical child. But as a parent, you want what’s best for your children, and you just do it.” Denise adopted Eloise as a single mom in 2011. She is also a mother to daughters Sam, 14, and Lola, 13, with her ex-husband Charlie Sheen.
