Dolly Parton Was ‘Committed’ to Late Husband Carl Thomas Dean for Nearly 60 Years: Inside Private Marriage

Dolly Parton has been a household name for decades, but not many knew her longtime husband, Carl Thomas Dean. Even though the country music icon’s super private spouse had shied away from the spotlight, he always supported Dolly throughout her career.

On March 3, 2025, Dolly announced that Carl had died at age 82.

“Carl Dean, husband of Dolly Parton, passed away March 3rd in Nashville at the age of 82. He will be laid to rest in a private ceremony with immediate family attending. He is survived by his siblings Sandra and Donnie,” a statement on Instagram said.

“Carl and I spent many wonderful years together. Words can’t do justice to the love we shared for over 60 years. Thank you for your prayers and sympathy,” she said. “The family asks for privacy during this difficult time.”
