Meghan Markle’s Mom Doria Ragland Might Meet the Royal Baby Before Queen Elizabeth (Report)

Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle will soon give birth to her first royal baby with Prince Harry and when that happens this spring, Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, might get to meet Baby Sussex before Queen Elizabeth, according to a new report.

The Queen’s former press secretary, Dickie Arbiter, told Us Weekly— in the magazine’s latest issue, on newsstands now — that Britain’s monarch will likely “wait a bit before meeting the baby” because she wouldn’t want to “create a disruption” by visiting Harry, 34, and Meghan, 37, in the hospital. “We would expect Prince Charles and [his wife, Camilla], Duchess of Cornwall to visit, along with the Duchess of Sussex’s mother,” Arbiter said of who the little one’s first hospital visitors might be.

Since Queen Elizabeth, 92, waited a few days before meeting Prince William and Kate Middleton‘s first child, Prince George, when he was born back in July 2013, she’ll likely do the same for Meghan and Harry’s little bundle of joy. And Doria, 62, paying her famous daughter a visit in the hospital might not be the only thing the first-time grandmother will do once Baby Sussex arrives. According to Arbiter, Doria might even move to the UK so she can spend more time with her grandchild. “The plan is for Meghan’s mom to join her in the UK when she gives birth,” he revealed. “They talk every day.”

Meghan is expected to welcome her first child with Harry this spring and, apparently, she already has a birth plan that’s been causing a ruckus at the palace. “Meghan is already drawing up a plan for the birth and beyond, and it’s unlike anything the royal family has ever seen,” a source recently told Heat magazine. “She wants to break with tradition in so many ways — she wants to reflect the modern woman and has had enough of the pressure on her to adhere to tired conventions.”

“The biggest battle is where Meghan will give birth,” the source added. “She is a huge advocate of home births, but British royals are expected to give birth at the Lindo wing of St. Mary’s hospital in London.” We can’t wait to meet Harry and Meghan’s baby boy or girl in just a few short months!
