A spring to her step. Just a couple of weeks since Meghan Markle and Prince Harry gave birth to their first child, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, Doria Ragland was seen looking quite happy in Los Angeles after becoming a new grandmother.

The 62-year-old was spotted walking her two dogs, and looking quite casual during her stroll. On May 6, the couple announced the birth of little Archie, which of course spread joy all across the world. The Duchess of Sussex’s mom, 62, got to meet her grandchild a couple of days later alongside Queen Elizabeth and her husband, Prince Philip.

“This afternoon Their Royal Highnesses introduced Her Majesty The Queen to her eighth great-grandchild at Windsor Castle,” the statement posted on the royal pair’s Instagram read. “The Duke of Edinburgh and The Duchess’ mother were also present for this special occasion.” While this was Doria’s first time meeting baby Archie, we know she will have plenty of time with him moving forward.

According to Buckingham Palace, who shared an announcement from the royal family after the birth of Meghan and Harry’s child, Doria is “overjoyed by the arrival of her first grandchild.”

Since Doria was in London to be with her daughter, 37, and grandchild, it also gave her a chance to bond with the Queen, 93.

“The Queen loves hearing Doria’s stories about her life in LA and the two of them have developed a special bond,” a source exclusively told Closer Weekly. “When she saw the yoga studio she jokingly asked Doria to give her a lesson!”

While there has not been any confirmation as to who will be Archie’s nanny, it seems like the former actress wants it to be her mom.

“Doria’s going to be her child’s nanny,” a palace insider exclusively revealed to Closer Weekly. “The royals were insistent that she hire someone with international credentials and highly trained in security and self-defense [like Maria Borrallo], but Meghan was having none of it.”

“It’s Doria or no one,” the source continued. “So now there’s a huge scramble within Kensington Palace staff to train her up on royal etiquette and survival techniques because this role is not just about changing nappies and singing lullabies. Doria will be entrusted with passing on very important skills to Harry and Meghan’s children.”
