Can you imagine being Ellen DeGeneres' big brother?

We think we know everything about the 59-year-old comedian since she's so open about her life on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, but fans would be surprised to know that she has a 62-year-old brother named Vance DeGeneres who also works in the entertainment industry!

Ellen and Vance DeGeneres were both born in Louisiana. After their parents' separation, Ellen moved to Texas with their mom while Vance stayed in Louisiana with their dad.

Before beginning his career in the entertainment industry, Vance spent two years in the Marine Corps where he rose to the rank of corporal.

He later switched career paths and became a musician in the New Orleans based band, Cowboy Mouth.

He married his wife, Joanna DeGeneres in 2013 in a small ceremony at the Ojai Valley Inn & Spa. Ellen, Portia de Rossi, and actor Steve Carrell were among some of the guests.

Vance co-runs Steve Carrell's production company, Carousel Productions at Warner Bros., where they develop popular romantic comedies like Crazy, Stupid, Love starring Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone.
