Erin and Ben Napier Reveal Major News About the Future of HGTV’s ‘Home Town’: ‘What America Needs Most’
Calling all Home Town fans! Erin and Ben Napier shared a major update about the future of their hit HGTV home renovation show.
In a post shared on Instagram on Wednesday, February 19, Erin, 39, and Ben, 41, posed for a selfie while holding a clapboard.
“New season starts filming today! #HGTVHomeTown,” the caption of the post said.
Fans could hardly contain their excitement for the new season of Home Town, revealing that they cannot wait to watch Erin and Ben create magic on screen as always.
“Yes!! Love your show!” one person wrote in a comment, as another said, “Season 9!!!!! Such an amazing journey!! Congratulations friends!!!”
“I can’t LOVE a show more than this one!! Real people, doing real work, living real hometown lives..what America needs most!!” another said.
“Love these two! It’s the best show,” another commenter wrote.
The announcement about filming for a new season came just a month after it was revealed that Erin and Ben signed a new talent deal with HGTV, guaranteeing that the couple will remain on the network for the next few years.
According to a January press release, Home Town “will be extended for 32 more episodes shooting through 2027.”
“Our collaboration with Ben and Erin has led to Home Town’s popularity with our key audiences and strong ratings performance every season,” Loren Ruch, Head of Content, HGTV, said. “This new deal will ensure fans get more of what they love about the series, which is the Napiers’ charming relationship dynamic and passion for designing beautiful family homes in their small town.”

And Erin and Ben were equally as thrilled about their future on HGTV.
“The HGTV family is where we belong. Shows are often impermanent but Home Town endures, we think, because it lives on a network that teaches and gives comfort to people. It’s more than pretty houses. That’s something we are proud to be part of,” they said in a joint statement.
The current season of Home Town began airing in December, with Erin and Ben helping a couple find their dream mid-century modern home, just one of the many Mississippi renovations that the duo will tackle.
“This season, they will complete an addition to expand a cramped lake house, face some unavoidable setbacks while trying to save a historic homestead and revisit a house they’ve previously renovated to make room for a growing family,” an HGTV press release said.
Home Town has become a staple in the HGTV lineup since it first premiered in 2016. In April 2023, the couple, who share kids Helen, 6, and Mae, 3, celebrated the 100th episode of the series.
“Last night we got to celebrate the 100th episode of #HGTVHomeTown with most everyone who has ever been part of it. Hundreds of faces,” Erin wrote on Instagram at the time. “Every homeowner from 7 seasons, our crew and producers and @hgtv were there and it felt like a second wedding for us. To be in a very crowded room and know every single face and have clear memories of them all is overwhelming, and I realized how important it is to so many people’s livelihoods that God saw fit to put @scotsman.co and I together when we were 19 and 21 years old.”
“We are so deeply honored that we get to be part of Home Town and in your living rooms every week,” the graphic designer added. “Only 2.5% of shows make 100 episodes. Ben pointed out this makes him basically the Tom Selleck to our Blue Bloods.”
