Eva Longoria and Husband Jose Baston ‘Don’t Compete for Attention’: ‘He Supports Me’

Eva Longoria and her husband, José Bastón, have an incredible relationship! The Only Murders in the Building actress explained the reason why their marriage works so well.

“He makes me laugh, and he’s a really good partner, and he supports me in everything I do,” she told DailyMail.com on Sunday, November 17. “I support him in everything he does. We don’t compete for attention or spotlight.”

While she’s one of the most glamorous stars in Hollywood, Eva, 49, explained that José prefers staying out of the spotlight.

“He loves for me to be on the red carpet. It’s one place he hates and he hates it,” she told the outlet.

Eva also explained that her husband isn’t a big fan of social media.

“He hates Instagram. He’s like, ‘Please don’t put me on your Instagram.’ That’s why he’s never on my social media. Once a while I try to slip him in there,” the Desperate Housewives alum said.

In addition to posting rare photos of her husband on Instagram once in a while, Eva also shares snapshots with her son, Santiago Enrique Bastón, on her page. The couple, who wed in 2016, welcomed their little boy in June 2018.

Prior to her marriage to José, Eva was married to her first husband, Tyler Christopher, from 2002 to 2004, and to her second husband, Tony Parker, from 2007 to 2011.

Recently, Eva revealed that she and José moved out of the United States with their son and currently split their time between Spain and Mexico.

​​“I had my whole adult life here,” she told Marie Claire on November 13. “But even before [the pandemic], it was changing. The vibe was different. And then COVID happened, and it pushed it over the edge. Whether it’s the homelessness or the taxes, not that I want to shit on California — it just feels like this chapter in my life is done now.”

“I’m privileged,” she added. “I get to escape and go somewhere. Most Americans aren’t so lucky. They’re going to be stuck in this dystopian country, and my anxiety and sadness is for them.”

Eva has assured everyone that Santiago loves traveling with his parents.

“My son is very bougie,” the doting mom told E! News on May 19 after attending the 2024 Cannes Film Festival without her son. “It’s the first year I haven’t brought him and he’s like, ‘You’re going to the south of France without me?'”

He often joins his mom on set when she is working on new projects and embraces experiences in each country.

“Oh my God, you know what I love is he’s always with me when I’m working,” Eva said during a June 20 appearance on Today. “If we’re in Spain, we just all go to Spain. If we’re in Rome, we’re all in Rome. And he’s very cultured.”

“‘Oh mom, can we have macaroons if you go to Paris?’ ‘We can eat jamón when we’re in Spain,’” she said while recalling conversations with Santiago, 6. “I just love how global he’s growing up, and understands and appreciates other cultures and other languages.”
