Fans Concerned About Sheinelle Jones Amid Ongoing Absence From ‘Today’: ‘Where Are You?’
Fans are flooding social media with questions about Sheinelle Jones’ absence from Today over the past few weeks. Many viewers took notice of Sheinelle’s absence, particularly from Hoda Kotb’s final episode of the program on January 10.
“Not even a recorded piece from @SheinelleJones on the @TODAYshow for @hodakotb‘s last day?! Seems odd. Hope she’s ok,” one person wrote on X.
Sheinelle, 46, was also missing from Craig Melvin’s first episode as Hoda’s replacement on January 13, as well as several others.
“Where is Sheinelle?? Congratulations to Craig, but can someone on the today show let us know where Sheinelle is??” one concerned fan wrote in a comment on Today’s Instagram account.
“So happy for Craig and the Today Show! BUT…….what has happened to Sheinelle? She has been absent for quite some time, off and on, over the past several months,” another Instagram user wrote. “Certainly hope everything is okay and she’ll be back.”
The other hosts adressed Sheinelle’s absences on a couple of occasions, saying, “Sheinelle is off today,” per multiple reports. However, fans were still concerned as to why she has been gone for so long without anyone explaining why.
“Multiple days last week they said, ‘Sheinelle is off today’ on the third hour which is her normal time,” another person mentioned on X. “Nothing mentioned this week so far. Reruns prior to that. She is still used in their social media photos, ads. So, she is likely still there. Gone 4 weeks including holidays.”
“Hmmmmmm I’m getting suspicious as to where the hell is Sheinelle Jones from the today show…. And last week when 3rd hour started I remember them mentioning she was off. But this week I feel like they haven’t said anything… Sheinelle where are you?!” a viewer wrote on X.
Another person directly messaged Sheinelle’s third hour costar Al Roker to ask for clarity on Sheinelle’s absence, writing, “@alroker as the elder statesman at Today what happened to Sheinelle? A fixture on the weekends then for years in the third hour has suddenly disappeared. No word about her being on vacation,ill or anything else. Viewers are worried & it sucks for NBC to act like she doesn’t exist.”
Sheinelle, who is a mom of three kids, has taken an Instagram hiatus, not posting any photos on her main feed since December 16. Fans flooded the comments section of her most recent post, saying that they hope she is OK.
“Missing you, Sheinelle on Today,” one person wrote. “I doubt you would’ve missed Craig’s first day. I know you would’ve been right there to help celebrate him. I pray all is well. And if you’re off to a new adventure I will be following and supporting you there as well.”
“Shenielle hope you’re ok dear and your family deeply missing you on Today,” another Instagram comment said. “Not sure what’s going on as your private life is your private life but people who tune in and adore you are concerned and most definitely miss you. Of course our minds are wondering but for me more out of concern.”
