Gabrielle Union Gets Slammed Online For Kissing Her Newborn Daughter Kaavia James On The Lips
It hasn’t even been one month since Gabrielle Union announced the birth of her daughter, Kaavia James, with her husband Dwyane Wade, and she’s already being mommy-shamed online. The new mom took to Instagram on Thursday, Dec. 6 to share a video of herself kissing baby Kaavia on the lips and, apparently, it upset a few of her followers.
“Ahhhh didn’t anyone tell you [that] you shouldn’t kiss a baby [on] the mouth. Even your own. She’s beautiful though,” one follower commented on Gabrielle’s post. Another wrote, “She’s gorgeous, but no kissing babies on the mouth.”
One concerned follower even told Gabrielle, 46, to pay attention to her baby’s breathing because it seemed a bit off in the clip. “She is breathing very, very hard. The pull is showing. Signs we are taught by [doctors] to look for [in] asthmatic children. Please take a look at this, @gabunion. Adorable, just be safe,” the comment read.
After seeing how her followers appeared to be very concerned for Kaavia, Gabrielle decided to address her haters and told them that she and her baby are perfectly fine. “Hey guys, I appreciate all the concern about kisses on the mouth and labored breathing, I am blessed enough to have a nurse here with us while at work,” she said. “Kaav is healthy and I don’t even touch her without washing and sanitizing myself and everything and everyone that comes into contact with her.”
“If you think I waited this long and went [through] all this to put my baby in harm’s way… you got another thing coming,” she added.
On Monday, Nov. 26, Gabrielle similarly shared a photo via Instagram of her husband kissing Kaavia on the lips. She jokingly penned the caption, “@dwyanewade & @kaaviajames = My #MCM & My #ShadyBaby… Kaav is like ‘trust ain’t my strong suit… close your eyes if you want to.'” It’s great to see that Gabrielle and Dwyane aren’t letting anyone bring them down!
