Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell are proof that marriage is just a title. The Overboard alums have been living a life of bliss ever since they began dating in 1983, and despite never walking down the aisle, Goldie and Kurt share one of the strongest bonds in all of Hollywood.

They first met while filming the 1968’s The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band. It wasn’t until 1983 that they reconnected on the set of Swing Shift.

Kurt recalled the moment he laid his eyes on Goldie after 18 years since the time they first met. “I was severely hungover and I didn’t know Goldie at all outside of having worked with her those many years before. I just didn’t have in my mind what I was going to see, and she had a great body,” he shared on Conan.

Decades later, they’re still going strong, as proven by their 2025 Oscars appearance!

1983

Goldie and Kurt wore matching brown ensembles while spotted out and about in 1983. This was shortly after they first became a pair!

Just three years into their relationship, Goldie and the Tombstone star welcomed their son, Wyatt Russell, in 1986. Considering Goldie is also the mom of son Oliver Hudson and daughter Kate Hudson from her relationship with Bill, while Kurt shares son Boston Russell with ex-wife Season, the twosome effortlessly blended their families and became one big brood.

Looking back on their decades of love, the Snatched actress and the Thing actor couldn’t feel more grateful — especially when it comes to their roles as grandma and grandpa to Oliver and Kate’s children. “The older Goldie and Kurt get, the more blessed they feel,” an insider previously told Closer Weekly. “Being surrounded by their children and grandchildren is what life is all about. They really are one of Hollywood’s most tight-nit families.”
