Good Bones’ Mina Starsiak Hawk Shows Off Swollen Face After Laser Procedure: ‘Fresh to Death Skin’
Good Bones’ Mina Starsiak Hawk showed off the healing process of her skin after a procedure with a CO2 hybrid laser in a recent Instagram video.
“I’m about to have the baby fresh skin…. Once I’m done being a monster,” she captioned a video of her swollen face over the course of multiple days on Instagram on January 9. “It’s grosse, but putting it all out there for those who are interested, those who are not but like grosse stuff and those who compare themselves to others who maybe haven’t been so open about their physical looks.”
“Hate me for it or love me for it. And I’d rather you have to explain to your adolescent child what this crazy lady did to make her face look like a babies butt than you have to explain to them why they don’t look like the other girls/boys/fill in the blank they see online who are altered or are probably full on AI at this point,” the caption continued. “If you’re 40 and your face doesn’t look like mine, you’ll at least know it’s because I spent money to torture myself to get that fresh to death skin. So be cool to each other (and to me). Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.”
The home design expert showed off the various stages of healing, including red blotches and swelling, as well as her son Jack’s reaction to her face.
In the comments section of the post, fans praised Mina for being so upfront with the procedures she has had done on her body.
“Keeping in real. Love it and appreciate it. Best wishes for a speedy recovery. And super smooth skin,” one person wrote in a comment.
“Your openness and honesty is refreshing and one of many reasons we are fans! Keep breaking those barriers so more can follow your lead!” another person remarked.
“I am fascinated! Thanks for sharing! F the haters!” one person said, while another wrote, “Thank you for showing us what others hide and pretend to be natural.”

“It’s really refreshing to see someone in the public eye being honest about what they’re doing to their face. Bravo to you. Also – ouch!” another person said, to which Mina responded, “The good, the bad and the ugly.”
HGTV’s J.D. Scott also left a supportive comment on the post, saying, “I did the vampire facial once and immediately after had a similar look but the skin felt great after a couple days. I understand both treatments are good for acne scars too. Helped mine.”
One curious fan asked Mina exactly what laser treatment she had done, writing, “You do you sister! Here for it! Which procedure is this? Inquiring minds want to know!” to which Mina responded, “It’s the CO2 hybrid laser.”
Another commenter asked, “Will you lose your freckles ? I love your face. I think you’re gorgeous.” Mina replied, “They’ll definitely lighten a bit. I love them too! But they technically are sun damage.”
“I had CO2 yesterday it’s brutal but worth it in the end,” one person wrote in another comment.
