Inside Heidi Klum’s Dating History: The Men She’s Loved and Lost Between Her 3 Marriages

Heidi married hair stylist Ric Pipino when she was approximately 24 years old in 1997. She was on the verge of breaking big on the modeling scene. Two years after they wed, Heidi rocketed to fame by being selected to wear the $10 million “millennium bra” at the 1999 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. Heidi and Flavio Briatore

As her marriage to Ric was ending, Heidi began a romance with billionaire Italian Formula 1 racing chief Flavio Briatore. He was just coming out of a five-year relationship with supermodel Naomi Campbell at the time. Heidi fell hard for the businessman, despite their more than two-decade age difference. The couple went public with their romance in March 2003 and attended numerous red carpet events together.

By autumn of that year, Heidi became pregnant. The two split while she was expecting. Heidi gave birth to daughter Helene “Leni” Boshoven Samuel on May 4, 2004, as she was later adopted by her mom’s next love, singer Seal.

Heidi and Seal met initially at the November 2003 GQ Awards in London, early on in Heidi’s pregnancy. She was able to hide her early expectant state that same month while walking in the 2003 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. They ran into each other in a hotel lobby in New York several months later when her baby bump showing. The two fell head over heels in love, and Seal was present for Leni’s New York City birth. He adopted her and raised Leni as his own daughter.

Heidi and Seal married on a Mexican Beach on May 10, 2005. They went on to have three biological children together, with sons Henry arriving in September 2005 and Johann coming along shortly thereafter in November 2006. Their family was completed with the birth of daughter Lou in October 2009.

Heidi and Seal were one of Hollywood’s most high-profile couples. He was always there for Heidi’s epic annual Halloween parties, and the pair renewed their vows every year on their wedding anniversary.

Red flags were raised when Heidi attended the 2012 Golden Globe Awards solo, as the pair had always been together and PDA-filled on so many red carpets. Several weeks later on January 22, 2012, the couple confirmed to People that they had separated. “While we have enjoyed seven very loving, loyal and happy years of marriage, after much soul-searching we have decided to separate.” Heidi and Seal finalized their divorce in 2014.

Heidi found a younger man for her first romance following her divorce. In 2014, she began dating New York art dealer Vito Schnabel, the son of famed American painter Julian Schnabel. Despite their 13-year age difference, Heidi and Vito put on PDA shows just about everywhere they went. From romantic vacations to her kids’ soccer games, the two couldn’t stop locking lips. “It’s not about age,” Heidi told Closer exclusively in 2017. “We have an amazing connection, we have fun together, and we love each other. It doesn’t matter what people say — as long as you know when you close your door in your own home [that] you have an amazing time together.”

Ultimately, distance took a toll on their romance. Heidi remained based in Los Angeles, where her children went to school and she filmed America’s Got Talent. Vito’s art business kept him in New York City. The pair split in September 2017 after three years as a couple.

Heidi found love again within a year of her split from Vito. In 2018, she began dating Tokio Hotel guitarist Tom Kaulitz, another younger man who was 17 years Heidi’s junior. Two months after being spotted making out on the AGT set, the pair made their red carpet debut at the Cannes amfAR gala in May 2018, putting on a PDA display with kisses and cuddles.

In September 2018, Heidi gushed to People, “He is the kindest, sweetest, most caring, loving person. I feel so lucky. I don’t know the last time I was this happy in my life.” She added, “He is absolutely wonderful. Maybe it is because he is German, and we understand each other in a different way. But so far so good.”

By the end of the the year, the couple got engaged. In December 2018, Heidi shared an Instagram photo of the pair with her new ring and announced, “I SAID YES.” Heidi and Tom secretly wed in February 2019 in California. They later had a lavish formal ceremony on August 3 aboard a yacht off the coast of Capri, Italy, surrounded by famous friends and family.

The happy couple are still going strong! They attended the 2024 Grammys together in the most gorgeous outfits.
