Hoda Kotb Drives Off in Minivan With Her Kids After Final ‘Today’ Episode: ‘Ready for Next Adventure’
Hoda Kotb’s final Today episode had the perfect ending! The NBC personality shared a sweet moment with her daughters, Haley and Hope, to sign off from the show for the last time.
At the end of the special celebratory episode on Friday, January 10, Haley, 8, and Hope, 5, sat in the back seat of Hoda’s new minivan as she sat behind the wheel.
“Alright guys, are you ready for the next adventure?” she asked her kids. They shouted, “Yeah.”
“Let’s go, let’s close the door. Bye,” Hoda told the camera before driving off.
On the back of the minivan, a sign was hung below the back windshield that said “just repotted.” Cans were strung up on the bottom of the car with streamers, making noise as Hoda drove away from the crowd gathered outside of the Today plaza.
Late last year, Hoda excitedly announced that she had gotten a minivan after moving to the suburbs with her children. She previously lived in a New York City apartment with her girls. The Hope Is a Rainbow author decided it was the right time to get a new vehicle after the move.
“Breaking news … I drove my minivan!” she said during an episode of Today With Hoda & Jenna in November 2024. “I got in the Toyota Sienna, which is, BAM — I love it! I got in there, I pushed the buttons … then I went to the grocery store.”
“Did you actually need groceries?” Jenna Bush Hager asked her at the time. “No, I didn’t. I wanted somewhere to go.”
Hoda said that she was loving driving the kids, whom she shares with ex-fiancé Joel Schiffman, around their new neighborhood.
“It feels like you are flying in a plane at 35,000 feet … my kids piled in, they want to sit in the way back, go ahead because this is a big old bus.”
“I love my minivan so much,” she gushed.
Hoda even said that people in the neighborhood have taken notice of her convenient new wheels.
“Some of the neighbors are texting me, ‘Hey girl, saw your ride. You picking up the kids next time?’” the doting mom revealed. “Because I couldn’t drive the kids because I had a little car.”

Hoda’s just happy that she’s been able to make her dreams come true during this repotting phase of her life.
“Me in a minivan is a dream. I’ve wanted it and I haven’t had it and also, I am sometimes a ‘Carpool Mom.’ I can only take three kids because there is no other room — not anymore! … I cannot wait for it.”
It seems like the minivan totally fits the vibe of Hoda’s new neighborhood, where she will be spending a lot of her free time in her new house now that she will not have to be in the Today studio each morning.
“It’s all new — new kids, new school, new things, new everything,” Hoda said in August 2024. “And it’s funny because all I could think of was I want my house for the kids to feel warm and cozy and a place where they want to hang. And that’s it.”
