Hoda Kotb and Boyfriend Joel Schiffman Are Talking About Marriage! (EXCLUSIVE)
Since the day Haley was born, “everything…keeps getting better,” Hoda Kotb said on Jan. 2, the day she officially took over the co-anchor spot on Today.
She’s not kidding. After adopting her precious daughter, Haley Joy, last February, Hoda’s not only landed one of the best jobs on TV, she’s become more committed than ever to her boyfriend of four years, financier Joel Schiffman. In fact, now Hoda and Joel are talking marriage. “Hoda can’t stop pinching herself,” an insider tells Closer Weekly.
The accomplished newswoman, who divorced former tennis coach Burzis Kanga in 2007, spoke recently about marrying Joel. She coyly admitted, “Maybe, we might.” Hoda, 53, and Joel, 59, live together in NYC, and when she first discussed adopting a baby with him, she offered to give him time to consider. But, “he looked at me and said, ‘I don’t need a day,’” she recalled. “And I knew I’d chosen the right man.”
Joel has been there for Hoda and Haley “every step of the way,” an insider says. And while Hoda has shared, “I would take my worst day since Haley over my favorite day before,” a wedding would make her life even better.
“Hoda and Joel talk about having a low-key ceremony in Nantucket, where they love spending time,” reveals the insider. Don’t worry, her closest Today friends would be in attendance, too! “Of course Kathie Lee [Gifford], Savannah [Guthrie] and her Today family would attend,” a source told Life & Style.
In a previous interview, Hoda gushed about “falling in love” with Joel. “Joel is the right person [for me]. I do feel like he is the last one. He showed me that anything is possible,” she shared. “My last risky move and I don’t call it a risky move anymore, was falling in love. There is something about the later-in-life portion of the program. You meet someone and you think to yourself, ‘Wow, I didn’t know I could feel like this at my age.'”
We’re just so glad to see Hoda as happy as she is today. The source tells Closer, “She says life couldn’t get any better than it is right now, but she’s going to try.”
