How Did Frankie Muniz Break His Back? Inside the ‘Dancing With the Stars’ Contestant’s Injury
Ouch! Frankie Muniz may be Agent Cody Banks, but that doesn’t mean he’s made of steel. The 31-year-old actor is currently on Season 25 of Dancing With the Stars and revealed on the ABC series that he suffered a major injury before coming on the show. Now, many fans are wondering: How did Frankie break his back?
In case you didn’t know, in-between being a child star and ballroom expert on DWTS, Frankie was actually a pro race car driver. In the dancing competition’s premiere episode, he told his pro partner, Witney Carson, exactly what happened. “I had a crash and broke my back and injured my hands and ribs,” he said.
He added to People, “I think we talk about my injuries every day because I have a creaky, old body. I’m 31 but feel like I have the creaky, old body of a 71-year-old. But I’m doing whatever it takes to take care of my body so I can continue dancing. Frankie, who also suffered a mini-stroke in 2012 continued, “I’ve raced Indy cars, I’ve played every sport, I consider myself a pretty athletic person, but I’m so sore. I’m so dead. I’m in the sauna, I’m icing. Everything that I’m doing every minute of the day is to make me a better dancer in this competition and make it to the end.”
Luckily for Frankie, Witney is super supportive of him! She gushed, “This guy is amazing. He’s so hardworking and wants to do the best that he can. We’re having a blast.” The duo is still in the competition, and we can’t wait to see what they come out with in the coming weeks of DWTS even though the Big Fat Liar star is still a little nervous to perform! “I’m so scared to dance in front of people. I didn’t even know if I could dance, but now that I’m doing it I don’t want to stop anytime soon,” Frankie confessed. “I’m having the time of my life.”
