Hugh Jackman Jokes That His Family Is ‘So Sick’ of ‘The Greatest Showman’ Soundtrack

It goes without saying that Hugh Jackman couldn’t be more excited to hit the road on a lengthy world tour for his one-man show — and so is his family. The Greatest Showman star recently revealed that his wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, 63, and their adopted children Oscar, 18, and Ava, 13, are “so sick” of the massively popular soundtrack.

“It’s not my world. I’m not a recording artist, I’ve done a few cast albums, so my kids and even my wife are getting so sick of it,” the 50-year-old stud joked to NME. “They’re like, ‘It’s the 20th week at No. 1!’ I’m still excited about it.” The musical first made waves in the box office after it was released in December 2017 and the hype has barely died down.

The film, which has been confirmed to be getting a sequel, became a huge blockbuster despite being panned by critics. In fact, Hugh even came to the movie’s defense after “sniffy” viewers complained about the “commercial” aspects of the film. “If I invented chocolate ice cream and people came up to me and said, ‘I hate chocolate,’ then alright  — that’s OK,” Hugh told the outlet. “In the end, I’m a storyteller. I’m an actor who tells stories. Some people didn’t like The Greatest Showman and that’s fine with me.”

Hugh thrilled fans all around the world when he revealed some exciting news during an appearance on the Today show last November. “I’m doing a big arena tour,” he shared with the cohosts. “This is a dream come true for me. I’ve done it in Australia, but now I’m going to go around the world; I’m going to cities all over America, we’re going to Europe, we’re going to the U.K., we’re going to Australia.”

On top of heading out for his world tour of The Man. The Music. The Show., it was also recently announced that the Logan star will be returning to the Great White Way in a revival of The Music Man, according to Playbill. Hugh has had quite a long-running stint on stage as he made his Broadway debut in 2003’s The Boy From Oz. The Aussie hunk has also appeared in plays A Steady Rain and The River, as well as headlined his own Broadway concert in 2011. The Music Man is expected to opening on October 22 in New York City.

Hopefully these new ventures will give Hugh’s family more variety to listen to.
