Hugh Jackman Gushes Over Wife Deborra-Lee Furness Ahead of Their 20th Wedding Anniversary - Closer Weekly

After nearly 20 years together, Hugh Jackman still knows how to make his wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, happy!

When asked about slogans the actor lives by, Hugh revealed the one motto that has been responsible for his successful marriage.

“The most important one, [which] is drummed into me every day [is] ‘Happy wife, happy life,'” the 47-year-old told Australian morning show Sunrise on Wednesday, March 30. “That’s the slogan. We’re about to celebrate our 20th [anniversary].”

The Wolverine star previously opened up about his unconditional love for the actress. “She and I met before [I got famous]… She’s the greatest thing that ever happened to me, and it gets better and better,” Hugh said in a recent interview.

“I’m kind of really grateful that [we] met before [I got famous], because everything that’s happened in my career and on-screen, off-screen, we’ve always done it together,” he continued. “[Twenty-one] years and two kids later [here we are].”

Hugh and Deborra-Lee, 60, first met on the set of Australian soap opera Correlli during the mid-1990s. The couple — who married in April 1996 — are now parents to two adopted children, son Oscar, 15, and daughter Ava, 10.
