Is Sheinelle Jones Still on the ‘Today’ Show?

Sheinelle still appears to be a regular cohost on Today despite her absences during the October 21, 2024, and October 22, 2024, episodes. According to her bio on the show’s website, she is still a “cohost of NBC News’ 3rd hour of Today and a mid-week correspondent for Today.”

Why Was Sheinelle Jones Missing From ‘Today’ Show Episodes in 2024?

The Pennsylvania native was noticeably absent from Today during the October 21, 2024, and October 22, 2024, episodes. While she is usually featured alongside Al Roker, Dylan Dreyer and Craig Melvin, Sheinelle was replaced by Savannah Sellers during the episodes.

Sheinelle’s absence was noticed by viewers, though none of the hosts explained why she didn’t appear on the episodes. Meanwhile, Sheinelle hasn’t posted on her Instagram feed since October 9, 2024, and hasn’t revealed any clues about her whereabouts.

Amid her absence, many fans have taken to social media to wonder where she is. “Where is Sheinelle Jones from Today?” one person wrote via X. Another chimed in, “Where is Sheinelle Jones? I hope everything is okay, but I think something is wrong. She’s been missing for too long.”

Sheinelle Jones Is Getting Ready to Promote Her New Book

While her absence from the NBC show has not yet been explained, it’s possible that Sheinelle took time away from the show to promote her upcoming book, Through Mom’s Eyes: Simple Wisdom From Mothers Who Raised Extraordinary Humans, which will be released on April 15, 2025.

The broadcast journalist opened up her book on the Today show in September 2024. “I am so excited to share this with you. “#ThroughMomsEyes is an inspiring collection of heartfelt life-lessons from hard working moms who raised some of our favorite celebrities, like Steph Curry, Shaq, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Lady Gaga, Matthew McConaughey, the Wahlbergs, Tyra Banks, Thomas Rhett, Rob Gronkowski, the Jonas Brothers, Jessica & Ashley Simpson, Serena and Venus Williams and so many more,” she wrote alongside a clip from the show via Instagram. “In addition to their moms, many of my friends contributed lessons they learned from their mothers – including Billie Jean King, my Today show fam, chef Marcus Samuelson, Andy Cohen, Colin Jost, Mario Lopez, CeCe Winans and so many more.”

Her caption continued, “It truly is my love letter to mothers. I also talk a lot about my journey – from growing up in Kansas …. to the Today show. You can order it in my bio. I hope you love it.”

Additionally, Sheinelle opened up about her inspiration for the book while speaking to People in August 2024.

“I do a series on the show, it’s called Through Mom’s Eyes, where I interview moms of people we admire,” she told the outlet. “And I noticed after interviewing about 20 of them that I was taking all of these jewels and applying it to myself for my own kids, calling my girlfriends and being like, ‘Can I tell you how Steph Curry’s mom got him to do his chores?’”

She said that she “finally realized” that she should share her own “wisdom” by writing the book. “And so I sat down and I thought, you know what? Let me see if I can write about what I’ve learned,” Sheinelle said. “And it has been one of the most fulfilling things I have ever done.”
