Jenna Bush Hager’s Costars Make Fun of Her Outfit on ‘Today’ Show: ‘This Is Harassment’
Jenna Bush Hager jokingly called her costars out for “harassment” after they poked fun at her outfit on Today.
The NBC personality, 43, wore a bold black and white paisley-patterned ensemble on the Wednesday, February 5, episode of Today, and before fans could even get a chance to see the look on-air, Jenna’s costars teased her for the fashion choices.
“Everybody’s talking about it, and we can’t wait until you see Jenna’s outfit,” Al Roker said, adding, “Her game has been upped!”
Savannah Guthrie chimed in, “Don’t reveal yet! Don’t reveal yet! The fashion!”
Carson Daly also added his two cents, saying, “Her fit is lit, as the kids say.”
Savannah, 53, then introduced Jenna’s outfit before the camera panned over to the Today With Jenna & Friends host.
“You guys, this morning, Jenna’s can’t-miss outfit and her morning boost,” Savannah said. “There she is! How cute does she look? You look great!”
Jenna sheepishly smiled as her costars applauded her outfit. “Thank you guys,” she said before adding, “This is harassment. Harassment! Harassment.”
Jenna’s costars didn’t stop there, as the Love Comes First coauthor later revealed that they had begun comparing her to inanimate objects.
“Earlier all the boys on the show said I look like a pack of cards,” she said on Today With Jenna & Friends. “I heard [producer] Sean [Hickey] just laugh hysterically. They said, ‘Wow, you look like a pack of cards.’”
Sean defended himself by shouting, “A fashionable pack of cards!”
On the other hand, guest host Ego Nwodim loved Jenna’s outfit, calling her “a queen.”
“Thank you!” the mom of three responded. “I was like, ‘This is harassment.’ But not really. They like to make fun of me!”
Jenna’s outfit wasn’t the only fashion topic the Today hosts discussed this week on the show. During the Tuesday, February 4, episode, Jenna and Ego, 36, talked about whether they preferred bikinis or one-pieces. While the Saturday Night Live star preferred the former, the former first daughter said she preferred the latter. However, Jenna still thinks one-piece bathing suits can be “sexy-ish.”
“I just didn’t want you to think I was rocking a speedo, you know,” she told Ego. “I like a one-piece because it covers some areas that have seen some work — and by work, I mean children stretching it. But I like it to be sexy-ish.”
Jenna added, “But of course you should wear a bikini, you’re hot.”
Ego responded, “A one-piece is also acceptable, I’m not judging, and honestly I was torn on this one.”
Jenna previously defended her swimsuit preference in a similar discussion with former cohost Hoda Kotb.
“Not all of us tan equally, some of us have stomachs that haven’t seen the light of day since I was 18!” she said in April 2022. “If that burns, how does that make my body feel? Not so good! Some of us also have a larger region right up here.”
Jenna, who shares kids Mila, Poppy and Hal with husband Henry Hager, added, “We want to throw our kids in the air. When my bathing suit fell off, it scared people! So I like to be tight.”
