Jenny Marrs Shares Hopeful Update About Missing Dog After Dealing With ‘Unexpected’ Loss

Jenny Marrs shared a positive update after her family dog went missing. The HGTV host announced on Instagram that the dog, Jack, had been reunited with the Marrs family.

She first revealed news that Jack, a “livestock guardian dog,” was missing on Instagram on April 29 after fending off coyotes on the family’s farm. The battery on the dog’s GPS tracker died, causing Jenny, 46, to make an emotional plea for help to locals in Arkansas.

A few days later on May 1, she shared another update amid the search for Jack.

“Thank you all for asking about, searching for and praying for Jack to come home safely. He was so loved by our community and we, as a family, are so heartsick just hoping and praying.”

Luckily, on May 3, the mom of five revealed that Jack had been found in the area.

“Our boy is HOME!! I had the smallest thread of hope left that we’d ever find Jack so when a friend texted me this morning that someone thought they had spotted him and gave me the address, I dropped everything and raced over there. I prayed the whole way, ‘let it be him. Let it be him. Let it be him’… I had no other words. I was also so nervous it was another false alarm so I didn’t tell the kids where I was headed,” she captioned a series of photos of the dog on Instagram.

“When I got to the house and knocked, I heard him immediately and started shouting his name like a crazy person,” she shared. “He jumped up on the front window and I cried and knew instantly it was him. But, no one was home. I spoke to the local police to see if they could track down the homeowner. Then, I could do nothing but wait.”

Jenny continued on in her post, saying, “A sweet friend of a friend (who originally saw him) texted me the minute she saw a car pull in the driveway. He was safe and had been taken care of while we were searching for him! Somehow, his collar was missing when they found him. PSA: please scan a pup for a microchip if you find one who seems lost… Jack has a microchip but he was never taken in to be scanned so we had no way of being contacted!”

“Whew what a day. What a reminder that this ole internet CAN be used for good and just as I said yesterday, there’s always a reason to still ‘dare to hope’!! Thankful for a happy ending today. Thank you all for praying and sharing and searching for our boy!!!” she added.

The post came just days after Jenny revealed that one of her farm animals had died.

“I woke up this morning worried sick about Jack. Then I found our sweet Mary in the pasture,” Jenny wrote on her Instagram Story. “We lost her unexpectedly. I was just out with the animals last night and everyone seemed healthy.”

Jenny said that she wanted to call one of her neighbors for help but was hit with a heartbreaking realization.

Dave [Marrs] had already left for work so I went to call our neighbor through my tears to ask her for help burying her so the kids wouldn’t find her after school. I stopped myself just before I hit the call button remembering our neighbor is with Jesus now,” the Fixer to Fabulous host said. “I have cried buckets of tears the past two weeks, and the rain outside today reflects how I’m feeling inside. When you watch Season 7 [of Fixer to Fabulous] and my eyes are perpetually puffy, you’ll know why. My heart is aching so deeply right now.”
