Jerry Seinfeld Reveals ‘I Think I’m on the Autism Spectrum’
In a new interview with NBC’s Brian Williams, actor and comedian Jerry Seinfeld revealed he believes he may be on the autism spectrum due to his struggles with social interaction.
During a segment for Jerry’s hit web series Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, the former Seinfeld star, 60, told Brian that learning more about the autism spectrum helped convince him that he fits the description of the disorder.
“I think, on a very drawn-out scale, I think I’m on the spectrum,” he said, to which the journalist replied, “What are the markers?”
“You know, never paying attention to the right things,” Jerry continued. “Basic social engagement is really a struggle. I’m very literal. When people talk to me and they use expressions, sometimes I don’t know what they’re saying.”

Though he says social situations can often be difficult the comic clarified that he does not consider his struggles to be a disability.
“I don’t see it as dysfunctional,” Jerry said. “I just think of it as an alternate mindset.”
