Jewel on Her Divorce: “It Takes a Lot of Work to Amicably Co-Parent Our Son”
Jewel is telling it like it is!
In a candid new interview, the 41-year-old singer opened up about her recent divorce from Ty Murray — and admitted amicably co-parenting their son, Kase, takes a lot of effort.

“It’s work. I don’t want people to think it’s effortless — it’s work to do this because you obviously don’t get a divorce because things are going well. But it’s letting those things live in the past,” Jewel recently told People.

“[Co-parenting is] realizing you’re in a relationship forever, so learning to treat one another with respect and dignity and just doing the right thing for Kase,” she continued.

The “Foolish Games” singer and Ty, 46 — who works as a rodeo cowboy — tied the knot in August 2008 and announced their separation after six years of marriage in July 2014. The former couple welcomed Kase, their only child together, in July 2011.
