So Exciting!Jimmy Kimmel Will Return in 2018 to Host the Oscars
The host for next year’s 90th Academy Awards has already been announced!

host of Jimmy Kimmel Live! and this past year’s Oscars ceremony — will be returning in 2018 as the Hollywood award show’s emcee.
“Hosting the Oscars was a highlight of my career and I am grateful… [for] the Academy for asking me to return to work with two of my favorite people, Mike De Luca and Jennifer Todd,” the 49-year-old star said in a statement on Tuesday, May 16.
Michael De Luca and Jennifer Todd produced the 2017 Oscars ceremony and will be returning next year to accompany Jimmy in executing the show.
Hopefully the 2018 Academy Awards go a bit more smoothly than they did this past February, when one of the biggest faux pas in Oscar ceremony history occurred when La La Land was mistakenly announced as the as best picture winner over actual winner, Moonlight.
Much of Jimmy’s previous performance as the Academy Awards host was unfortunately overshadowed when the wrong film was announced as best picture at the end of the show. Many will never forget Jimmy’s stoic face and awkward demeanor as La La Land producer Jordan Horowitz stormed the microphone and proclaimed, “There’s been a mistake — Moonlight, you guys won.”
After the cringeworthy mix-up, Jimmy opened up about the public gaffe — and funnily predicted he might be asked to host the award show again. “If you think we screwed up the ending this year, wait until you see what we have planned for the 90th anniversary show,” he said.
Keeping in line with his joke-y stance on the infamous error, Jimmy announced his 2018 Oscars gig on Instagram, writing, “Thanks to [The Academy] for asking me to host The #Oscars again (assuming I opened the right envelope).”
