Too Cute!Jimmy Kimmel Says Getting His Toddlers To Smile For Holiday Card Photos Is ‘Impossible’

Kids do the darndest things. Jimmy Kimmel revealed on Dec. 11 that he and his wife, Molly McNearney, “finally got around to taking” holiday photos of their toddlers. Despite Jimmy trying to do everything he could to get his kids to cooperate for the perfect picture, they weren’t having it.

“Trying to get them to sit still and smile and look vaguely in our direction at the same time is like trying to put a wetsuit onto a monkey and a baby pig. It’s impossible. I took no less than 400 photographs,” the 51-year-old said, half-jokingly. “I made faces. I made noises. I jumped around. I used threats. I said, ‘You’re going to pay for your own college if you don’t look here and smile.’ You can’t even jingle your keys anymore —  because you can’t jingle a FOB!” Take a look at the video below!

In fact, this photo shoot lasted a majority of the Jimmy Kimmel Live! host’s morning. “In two hours, we didn’t get a single usable shot. I was like, ‘I think I got it,'” Jimmy said. “And then I went back to the computer and I was like, ‘I did not get it. Not one.'”

Jimmy’s frustration with his uncooperative kiddos, Jane, 4, and Billy, 19 months, left him with an idea. “There’s an app that makes you vomit rainbows,” Jimmy suggested. “Somebody’s gotta come up with one that makes kids sit still and smile for three seconds!”

After hours of taking countless photos, Jimmy and Molly reluctantly gave up. “We were like, ‘The hell with it! We’ll get pictures of someone else’s kids and send ’em,'” Jimmy admitted. “Instead of sending people pictures of our kids this year, we’re just going to send them our kids this year.”

Happy new year from our family to you and yours

This isn’t the first time that Jimmy has adorably teased his children on his show. Around Halloween time, the dad-of-two appeared on his own segment of parents tricking their kids into thinking they ate their candy. In the video, Jimmy can be seen teasing his daughter by telling her he ate all her Halloween treats.

“I have to tell you something. Last night while you were sleeping, mommy and I ate all your Halloween candy,” Jimmy said of the skittles and Swedish fish while Jane gasped at his fake confession. “Mommy ate them. Daddy only ate Skittles, M&Ms, Kit Kats, Reese’s peanut butter cups, gum, and eyeballs and Twizzlers and lollipops.” Too cute!
