‘Fixer Upper’ Star Joanna Gaines Faces Fan Backlash After Announcing Pregnancy
It's hard to believe the news that Fixer Upper stars Joanna and Chip Gaines are expecting their fifth baby would make fans anything less than excited. But, recently some fans of the show criticized the couple for adding to their already large family. Chip might have announced the pregnancy news with the hashtag "#7ThePerfectNumber" but it looks like some viewers disagree.
"Going on 5 kids they need to stop having kids tie ur tubes," one fan wrote on Facebook after reading the news. Another questioned Joanna's age writing, "At 39?? She crazy."
The HGTV stars are already parents to Drake, Ella, Duke, and Emmie. After the couple sparked divorce rumors last year, some fans wonder if their fifth baby was planned. "Unfortunate that he has clearly said on the show, 'No more children,'" one fan added. Another commented, "Do they not realise there is a world population explosion."
But, the couple's opinions about more children after announcing that the show is ending hints that more kids were never out of the question. "We had four babies right before the show started, and then we’ve had zero babies since the show started,” the 43-year-old dad said. “For me, I’m really excited to go back and try to maybe… try to make some more babies.” Joanna's response? “Maybe. We have different answers.”
While some fans are skeptical, most fans couldn't be happier for the couple! After the news broke, people took to Twitter to tweet their excitement about the baby news. "So Joanna Gaines is pregnant and it’s only the second day of 2018 which means this is gonna be a good year," one user wrote. Another added, "Only thing better then tonight’s new fixer upper with @chipgaines and @joannagaines was finding out @joannagaines is pregnant!!!!!!! I’m a mom of 5 too!!!! I call them my fab 5❤️." As for us? We can't wait for their little one to arrive!
