John Stamos And His Wife Caitlin McHugh Recall Their Cute First Meeting On The ‘Law & Order: SVU’ Set
Today, John Stamos and Caitlin McHugh are one of Hollywood’s cutest couples — but how exactly did they first meet? In a new interview with Entertainment Tonight, John and Caitlin recalled the hilarious moment when they were introduced on the set of Law & Order: SVU and how John ended up channeling his SVU character to win Caitlin over!
“He was playing a character who wanted to knock up as many women as possible,” Caitlin joked. “And I happened to be the last person and he ended up knocking me up.” John then quipped, “I actually got her. Took awhile but we did it!”
Caitlin, 32, loved how much John, 55, was a child at heart and once they started dating, she knew that he was the person she wanted to marry. “It was his heart, his philanthropic work, and also, to be honest, his love for Disney. They’re just childlike qualities that I really liked,” she explained. “I literally didn’t care much about him being an actor.”
After they tied the knot, John and Caitlin welcomed their first child, son Billy, about seven months ago in April 2018. “From now on, the best part of me will always be my wife and my son,” John previously wrote of his family on Instagram. He also recently gushed to Ryan Seacrest on his radio show, On Air With Ryan Seacrest, that “it’s so beautiful having a baby.”
“People are probably sick of me saying I always wanted a kid but it just happened and I guess I was waiting for the perfect wife, which I have,” he added during the interview. “Caitlin, she’s been so graceful through this whole thing. [Her delivery] was about 20 minutes. A little baby came out and he looked just like Don Rickles.” John and Caitlin will be celebrating their first wedding anniversary in February 2019 — we wish them many more years of happiness together!
