Johnny Depp‘s 29-year-old wife has been charged with illegally bringing the couple’s two pet dogs, Pistol and Boo, into Australia earlier this year.

The actress could face up to 10 years in jail and/or be forced to pay a $102,000 fine for the transgression, according to TMZ.

In May, an Australian Senate committee revealed Johnny, 51, and Amber had smuggled their two Yorkshire Terriers into the country — where the actor is filming the latest Pirates of the Caribbean movie — aboard a private jet.

According to previous reports, the dogs weren’t registered on customs’ arrival slips, which are required to be completed by all travelers arriving in Australia. At that time, the nation’s Agriculture Minister Barnaby Joyce threatened to euthanize the dogs if they were not promptly returned to California.

Australia’s strict quarantine regulations require all animals to be registered to prevent the spread of diseases. The dogs were discovered after they were taken to a local groomer and photos of the pups were posted on social media.
