Josh Hall Appears on ‘Christina in the Country’ With Estranged Wife Christina Hall in Season Premiere

Christina Haack (formerly known as Christina Hall) made her return to HGTV with season 2 of Christina in the Country, but she wasn’t alone. Her now-estranged husband, Josh Hall, joined her in the premiere episode of the series, which aired on Tuesday, November 12.

The episode started off with a scene at Christina and Josh’s one-time shared California home. “Maybe I should open a smoothie shop,” he said as handed a smoothie to Christina while they sat in the kitchen. “Tell me how delicious it is.”

“It’s good,” she responded before telling Josh that she had some “good news.”

“I know how much you love Tennessee. I’ve gotten some inquiries lately and a few of them are really good, so I feel like it’s time that we got back there and start some new projects, new families, new contractors,” she said.

The pair traveled to Tennessee where Christina met with a new client. She then joined Josh for a car ride with one of their chickens in her lap as they made their way to view a potential flip property. She described it as “a great opportunity to make some money.”

When they met with the realtor to view the property, Josh said that the chicken is their “new assistant.” Christina said that the 13,000-square-foot-property was a bit “small.” It had two bedrooms and one bathroom, with a creek running behind the house.

“I totally feel like grandma just moved out,” Josh said of the retro home. While doing the walkthrough of the house, Josh leaned on the bathroom sink, which ended up coming undone from the cabinets down below. “Oh wow, it’s really secured well,” Christina joked.

“Although this house is small and dated, there’s a lot of potential here,” Christina said in a confessional. “If we want to put in an offer we have to act fast. Josh and I have a big decision to make.”

They went to a restaurant to talk about whether or not they wanted to buy the house and flip it.

“I think it’s got great bones. It’s in a great area. I mean we walked right here,” Josh said. “This is one small street with all this cool stuff around. There’s only so many houses around it. We have the opportunity to remodel one of them and sell it right around here.”

Christina then revealed that she hoped to turn the small property into a three bedroom, four bathroom home. Josh was rather shocked by her revelation. She planned to put $250,000 into the project and sell it for $900,000. They made an offer on the house at $450,000 with the hopes of making a $200,000 profit after the flip.

Obviously, the episode was filmed before Christina and Josh’s very public split. Both Josh and Christina filed for divorce in July. He listed their date of separation as July 8, while she listed the date of separation as July 7. Since then, they’ve both addressed the drama surrounding their breakup on social media and have continued to battle it out in court over their assets.
