Joy and Steve appeared during Entertainment Weekly’s Oscar Viewing Party at Elaine’s Restaurant in New York. Their love story first began in the ‘80s when they met at a semi-nudist colony.

“I don’t know if you know this about me, but I met my husband at a semi-nudist colony. It’s true,” she revealed on The View in March 2020. “He was naked, I was not. Because for a man to see me naked, I have to be in his will.”

The longtime couple posed together at the premiere of her play Me, My Mouth & I at Cherry Lane Theatre in the Big Apple. The appearance came three years after they tied the knot following 29 years of dating.

“He was far away, naked,” she said of her first meeting with her husband during a March 2020 episode of The View. “And then at night, there was a movie playing, and then I saw him fully dressed. But I remembered him from the daytime. It’s true. People wonder about that. I tell that story, and people are like, ‘Joy, really? That twitching, crazy woman on The View?’ Yeah.”
